Meet Our New Author

August 30, 2018 by DoneWithReligion

by Jim Gordon

I would like to take a minute and announce that we now have an additional author for Done with Religion.

Mike Edwards and I have been communicating and talking about things and we seem to have quite similar views.

I have asked Mike to be an author and to contribute some of his writings to Done with Religion. I think you will find his writing to be enjoyable and informative.

Mike also has his own blog site which you can check out at https://what-god-may-really-be-like.com/  You can learn more what about what Mike believes/enjoys to write about here and how to best navigate his site here.

We are certainly glad to add his interesting articles to Done with Religion.

So true Sonny. Being misunderstood leads to conversation and sometimes seeing things in a different light. I am with you on that, Jesus is my Savior, not religion. Thanks for the comment.

I like being misunderstood when it leads to common ground to build on. Then we can learn together. Jesus is my Savior, not religion.

Sonny – This is Mike. Thanks for reading. I know we may not agree but that is okay. I am concerned how others open to God perceive what we mean by saying “Jesus is the Way.” Over half the people born into this world never had a Bible or knew of Jesus. In a majority of cases the religion that one adheres to or rebels against is the family they were born into. Many reject God because they have been given a distorted view of God. I do agree Jesus revealed what God is really like and how much God loves and desires to have a relationship with us. Thanks.

I think you may be misunderstanding exactly what Mike was saying. I am not speaking for Mike, but my personal feeling is that yes, Jesus is the way because just like sin entered the world through one man Adam, so the grace of God came through one man Jesus Christ. Yet not everyone has heard or will hear of the Jesus of the Bible or the Jesus of Christianity, yet however someone comes to the knowledge of the love of God it will be because of the grace provided to the world through Jesus. Thanks for your comment.

This statement bothers me” God is not dogmatic about spirituality. Suggesting a loving God demands one can only come to God through Jesus is to ignore the realities of our world. ” Mike also said a few other things but this one matters. If Jesus is not the Way then he is a liar and not worth our time. Sorry I can not deny the Lordship of Christ. Eph 4:5
