Ephesians 1:22,23 — And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
What stands out most to me is the description of what true church is, which is His body. It is not a building. It is not someplace we go. Christ is the head of all of us who are saved by grace. We are the church.
I don’t see separation in this statement. I don’t see denominations, buildings and formal services trying to get people to come to us. I don’t see places based on doctrine.
I see a living, active group of people going out into the world day by day in the love and strength of God. I see a united effort seeking to show the love of God to all we meet each day.
I see people looking to Jesus and the Holy Spirit for truth and guidance. No more looking to a man/woman or a group of elders for teaching and guidance. Christ is our head and the Spirit is our teacher.
This leads me to think it is time to stop arguing over doctrine and interpretations. It’s time to stop looking to other brothers and sisters whom we elevate into a higher position and realize we are all kings and priests and able to teach and give a word to uplift one another. We need to allow God to live through us daily as we go out into the world and show His love to people who are hurting.
You are so right Wayne. The things religion taught us and the things we believed and went along with all these years. So good we are now seeing things differently, and coming to know our Father apart from religion and man’s influence. Thanks for commenting.

Seems real simple doesn’t it. Because it is really. Just life. Not a machine. Not a system. Not an organization. Not a pyramid scheme. So how could we allow ourselves to become so confused, so deceived? A spiritual body filled with His fullness! So complete. What is missing? Oh a pastor or a priest? Nonsense, and I am ashamed of myself for not seeing this for most of my “religious” life.
Regarding your other post about renewal, they call it this yes but what they are really meaning is “maintenance”, because machines need lots of maintenance. The diesel turbine in the field, for example is a very complicated thing and needs constant attention, oil changes, tune ups, etc.
But living entities are self-maintaining, self-healing, self-nurturing. Think about this this. Each part of the living body support and renews the other. There is an immune system and an endocrine system and yes there is maintenance but this not require third party generally speaking.
What you see out there is noting more than a constructed thing, with men behind the curtain pulling the levers and the pulleys to make it all look like it is alive. So much activity just to make something that has no life appear to be alive. But real life needs no such thing. It is beautifully and elegantly simple in all of its sophistication and complexity. There are very few moving parts. Look at a moth or a butterfly, then compare that to a jet airplane.
Jesus used parables of nature because here is where life was real, abundant,. elegant, harmonious, peaceful, unified, quiet. Here is where He found time with the Father, far away from the wrangling and church life of the priests and teachers.
